Production Update – End of May Progress

Hi everyone!
Just a quick update on where we are with Boba Mahjong Grande production.
By the end of May, we successfully finalized both the production quotation and production quantities. We have also submitted all graphic files to the factory, which is a major milestone for the project. 🎉
At the moment, we are waiting to receive the pre-production graphic proofs for review and approval. This step allows us to carefully check colors, layout, text, and overall print quality before moving forward. Once those proofs are approved, the factory will prepare a final mock-up sample for our review.
After the mock-up is approved, we will be ready to move into full production.
I attempted to follow up yesterday regarding the status of the proofs, but our contact person is currently returning from the UK Games Expo. Once she is back in the office, I will follow up again and gather the latest information.
Thank you all for your patience and support throughout this process. While waiting is never the most exciting part of crowdfunding, these review stages are important to ensure the final product meets the quality standards we all want for Boba Mahjong Grande. Btw, we do have a lot of moving pieces for a small project.
As always, I'll keep you updated as soon as I have more news to share.
Cheers,

Production Progress & Expansion Preview

Hi everyone,
Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! 💛
I wanted to share a quick progress update on Boba Mahjong Grande.
🏭 Development & Graphic Files
We’re a little behind schedule, mainly due to some challenges during development and graphic design. Nothing major, but enough to slow things down a bit as we worked through details to make sure everything looks and plays the best it can.
The good news:
- About 90% of the graphic files have now been delivered to the printer
- The remaining files will be completed and sent by next week
We’re getting very close to wrapping up this phase and moving into pre-production.
🎨 Expansion Sets — Final Look!
We’re excited to share the final look for all three expansion sets:
A lot of care went into polishing these, and we hope you love how they turned out! Each one brings its own flavor and twist to the game, and we can’t wait for you to try them.
📦 Pledge Manager Timing Update
Originally, we planned to charge shipping and add-ons around April 15th.
To better align with production readiness, we’ve decided to move this to May 1st (or once production is confirmed).
This gives us a bit more time to ensure everything is finalized before locking things in.
💛 Thank You
Thank you so much for your patience and continued support. We’re making steady progress, and your encouragement really helps keep things moving forward.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to help and answer questions!
More updates soon,
Ta-Te 🧋✨
Boba Mahjong Grande Production Progress

Hi everyone!
Just a quick update on where things stand with Boba Mahjong Grande.
Things have been a little slower than usual over the past couple of weeks due to the post–Chinese New Year period, when many manufacturers are catching up on orders and schedules. The good news is that we’ve now received the quotes and confirmations we needed, so we’re moving forward again.
🎨 Graphic Files & Pre-Production
Next week, we’ll begin sending the finalized graphic files to the factory. Our goal is to have all digital graphic files confirmed by the end of the month. Once those are approved, we’ll move into the pre-production phase.
During pre-production, the factory will produce either photos of the samples or actual pre-production copies for us to review. This step is important because it allows us to double-check colors, materials, and print quality before giving the final approval.
🏭 Next Step: Production
After the pre-production samples are confirmed, we’ll officially move into full production.
As always, thank you for your patience and support while we work through each step carefully. Our goal is to make sure the final version of Boba Mahjong Grande looks and feels as good as it possibly can.
More updates coming soon! 🧋✨
Cheers,

Pledge Manager Progress & Packaging Decisions

Hi everyone!
Quick progress update on where things stand:
📋 Pledge Manager Status
I’ve officially submitted the pledge manager for review. The review process usually takes around two days. After that, I expect we’ll need about another week to finish sorting out details and double-checking everything.
Once that’s done, we’ll run a smoke test. This means about 5% of backers will receive the survey first so we can catch any major issues before sending it out to everyone. If all goes smoothly, we’ll then release the pledge manager to all backers before mid-February.
Thank you in advance for your patience. This step helps ensure a smoother experience for everyone. 🙏
📦 Boba Mahjong Grande Packaging Decision
After a lot of thought (and your feedback!), we’ve made a final decision on the Boba Mahjong Grande box designs:
👉 We will be keeping both the original design and the store-front design.
I genuinely like them both, so… let’s do it. 😄
You’ll be able to choose your preferred version in the pledge manager. For clarity:
-
Boba Mahjong Grande → two box designs available
-
Boba Mahjong Pocket Edition → remains the same as originally shown
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🧋💛
Cheers,

Box Design Update (and Thank You for Speaking Up!)
– Tue, Jan 20, 2026 at 08:34:36 PM
Hi everyone,
First, thank you so much for all the comments and feedback on the new box design. I’ve read through them carefully, and it’s clear that many backers are not happy with the change.
And you’re absolutely right to feel that way.
Cover art is a big deal. It’s not a small tweak. It changes the identity of the game. I got excited and eager to use the new artwork, but I should have slowed down and asked for everyone’s input before introducing such a major packaging change.
This is not just my project. This is our project, and you trusted me with it. I truly appreciate that trust, and I take it seriously.
So for this project and this print run, we will move forward with the original box design. If the budget allows, I’ll explore making the new design available as an optional choice as well.
Thank you again for caring so much about Boba Mahjong and for speaking up. The passion in this community is genuinely one of the best parts of being an indie creator, and your feedback helps make the project better.
Now I’ll go back to working on the pledge manager… right away.
Thank you again, and hope this gave you a little smile.
Cheers,
Ta-Te
